  1. MAPVIEW 2.0  --  Overview
  2.  
  3. MapView is a package to view John Allison's world map files
  4. interactively or in an automated fashion. Four different projection
  5. methods are provided, and zooming can be done in one of two ways.
  6. Commands can either be entered from the keyboard or taken from command
  7. files, and map files can be grouped together conveniently. Screen
  8. images may be hardcopied or saved to disk. Colouring is supported.
  9.  
  10. Two utilities to view pictures saved to disk are provided; series of
  11. pictures may be displayed slide-show-like.
  12.  
  13. Two more utilities allow pre-processing of files to optimize either
  14. execution speed or disk space used.
  15.  
  16. The programmes are written in TurboPascal 5.0; full sources are
  17. provided. The programme runs on a variety of display adapters.
  18. Coprocessors are also supported (after recompilation only).
  19.  
  20. The package is published as freeware.
